Sabrina Soares was born in Sydney in 1996. Was not until she was 13 years old that she discovered her talent for singing and songwriting. After walking the ways of developing her music and guitar crafts, in 2012 she graduated from the prestigious CMAA Academy of Country Music in Tamworth. She became influenced not only by Taylor Swift, Keith Urban, Colbie Caillat and Ed Sheeran, but also by the Brazilian pop star Paula Fernandes.
Sabrina writes songs about day-to-day clashes of emotions of teenagers who struggle to understand their place in the world. She aims to be the voice of young people who need to speak out the things bottled up in their hearts.
After having a run in competitions like Newcastle Country Music Festival, Lithgow Festival, Canberra Country Music Festival (where she got first prize on her category), she decided to concentrate her efforts on community projects. In this spirit she got involved co-writing a song for the celebration of Youth Week, sponsored by the City of Sydney Council through a program called Almost Famous. This project lead to Sabrina winning the City’s Betty Makin Youth Awards, with a scholarship prize in money now being used towards producing her first EP.
